Julia Brandt

Julia Brandt enjoys sharing her knowledge of software with her class in a relaxed atmosphere. She has been a trainer for the Business Institute for over 5 years. Julia has designed and taught customized technology classes for the Business Institute and its business partners. Julia has been involved in education for over 10 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Baylor University.

Mary Fehr
Because Mary worked in a corporate environment for 22 years, she brings real-life experience and understanding of the corporate world into her classroom. Mary has distinguished herself as a small business owner and a teacher. She works successfully with users at all levels. She has taught software classes at the Business Institute for over 7 years.

John Lofstedt

John Lofstedt has been working in the computer industry for over thirty years as a programmer, system designer, consultant, educator, and small business owner.   John has acquired a wide range of experiences to share with his students.   John not only teaches how an application works, he offers real- life examples of how it can be applied to a business situation.   John has been an instructor for Highland Community College for the past ten years.

Lydell Manning

Lydell Manning has over 18 years experience in staff training and development. He holds a Microsoft User Certificate in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Through his custom designed Professional Development courses and computer classes, he helps employees learn the skills they need to be effective in the workplace.  

Liz Mitchell

Executive Speechwriter Liz Mitchell is passionate about the persuasive power of public speaking.   A former Senior Speechwriter with the American Medical Association, she has led hour-long to half-day speaker training seminars and workshops for groups ranging in size from 5 participants to an audience of 300. Her programs help busy people find their authentic voice, use it to energize their speeches, and get the results they want from every speaking engagement.

Kathe Mundinger
A comfortable, relaxed learning environment ensures that Kathe’s classes are rewarding rather than intimidating. She has been an instructor and consultant for the Business Institute for over 5 years. Kathe has a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and also teaches at Rock Valley College.

Laura Padron, RN

Laura has been a crtical care bedside nurse for 25 years.  She owns a teaching business called AeBn where she provides an array of cardiac courses.  She also serves as a Regional Faculty Member for the American Heart Association.

Sandy Tune
Sandy has developed her interest in Latino culture and its beautiful language over the past 15 years, at first while teaching other subjects.  In 2001 she brought that enthusiasm and skills to teaching Spanish to trainees in hospitals, businesses, and schools for the HCC Business Institute.  She has studied Spanish in a language school in Mexico, and has traveled extensively in Spanish-speaking countries of Mexico, Ecuador, Spain, and Peru.

Gary DeVore

Gary provides customized programs in the area of Effective Business Practices, with an emphasis in assessing, developing and managing workplace teams.   Gary is the president of CWE. Inc.. CWE Inc. is a company specializing in training & development of effective organizations, as well as consulting in the broader area of personal, small group and organizational effectiveness.   Gary has a BA in Management, an MA in Education with an emphasis in teaching technique, and has over 25 years of management experience.
